The ASLC offers students the opportunity to work behind the scenes and help plan every aspect of an event by joining one of our four committees. Through this experience, students develop skills in teamwork, collaboration, graphic design, social media, marketing, and more.
1. Content Committee

The Content Committee creates entertaining and informative articles on all things entertainment. From op-eds on the latest video game releases to thought pieces and film reviews, the committee aims to enlighten readers and keep them up to date on the latest in pop culture. Working in collaboration with our programming blocks, the committee also publishes articles that tie into weekly events happening throughout the building.
2. Film Committee

- New Releases: Featuring a blend of major studio hits and independent gems, New Releases offers students fresh, diverse perspectives from today’s film scene. Born from the merger of the former Blockbuster and Alternative branches, the series highlights relevant voices and stories shaping modern cinema.
- Co-Sponsorships: In partnership with campus organizations, these free screenings align with group missions and spotlight social or cultural themes—often paired with panels, receptions, or special events.
- Midnights: Screened at 12 a.m., these cult classics and nostalgic favorites create a unique, energetic viewing experience that brings audiences together.
- Classics: Celebrating timeless films that shaped pop culture and cinema history, this block combines education and entertainment through influential, enduring stories.
3. Game Committee

The Game Committee creates memorable experiences for all types of gamers, from tabletop nights and theater playthroughs to large community events like Noles Play. Members collaborate during meetings to share ideas and help ensure our events stay fun, engaging, and welcoming to everyone in the gaming community.
4. Special Events Committee

The Special Events Committee plans some of the most fun and unique activities on campus. From Rocky Horror screenings and succulent planting to karaoke nights and more, the team helps turn creative ideas into memorable events for all students.
